According to report released by Nepal Health Research Council women are more prone to teeth, mouth and gum health problems. The council after a research on oral health has concluded so. According to the findings of the research a total of 17 per cent of women are affected by teeth, mouth or gum health problems while 11.4 per cent of men are found to be suffering from the oral health problems.
The council's research also revealed that 10 per cent of the Nepalis ignore oral health problems. A total of 89.9 per cent clean their teeth at least once or more times daily of which 90 per cent are men and 89.9 per cent are women as per the report.
