China coronavirus death toll reached 563, hospitals discharge 1,153 patients
Kathmandu, February 6
Chinese health authorities on Thursday announced that a total of 563 people died of the coronavirus disease and 28,018 confirmed cases of were reported in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in China by the end of Wednesday.
As per Xinhua News, a total of 1,153 patients infected with the novel coronavirus had been discharged from hospital after recovery by the end of Wednesday.
The National Health Commission said in its daily report that Wednesday saw 261 people walk out of the hospital after recovery.
Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for greater legislative, law enforcement, judicial and law observance efforts to strengthen the capacity to carry out law-based infection prevention and control.
As reported by the Xinhua News, Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the statement when presiding over the third meeting of the Commission for Overall Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee. Xi is the head of the commission.
The meeting adopted documents including the commission's guidelines on practicing law-based infection prevention and control of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus.
